With the intention of meeting with online dating agents and potential lady partners, I organised a local guide and translator. I decided to stay a little way out of the city and had to use the Metro everyday, which was an experience. My guide took good care of my needs, plus arranging translation for my meet ups with ladies, some of whom had disabilities similarly to myself.

In 1996, at the mid-point of my karate teaching career, and while a part of an international group run from Australia, I was sponsored to travel to Siberia. This was a double first for me: one, a trip to middle of Russia and two, a disabled person travelling to teach karate to big burly Russians! Let's say, disabled people were rarely seen out and certainly didn't teach martial arts.
